Overview
GlobalReach MAPS provides a fully outsourced SWIFT solution including connectivity, gateway, security measures and access to the Alliance Access messaging application as GlobalReach Access does. The difference with GlobalReach MAPS is the inclusion of a hosted MAPS system which provides the ability to convert message data from any format to the SWIFT qualified format that SAA will accept. Its message hub capability means that you can have multiple systems feeding into MAPS and the MAPS graphical user interface (GUI) can provide a single window to view and manage messages and the dashboard and generate reports from. Also available from the MAPS GUI is the ability to enter messages manually though a fully customisable screen rather than using SWIFTAlliance. Finally MAPS offers advanced and very powerful workflow and automation process.
Detail
Communication between the customer’s sites to GlobalReach is taken care of by hardware VPN devices (diagram item 1). These devices create an encrypted and extremely secure “Internet tunnel” through which all communications travel. Customer VPN’s create and maintain a tunnel to both the GlobalReach Production and Disaster Recovery sites meaning instant switch over of service is achievable in the unlikely event of a disaster at production.
VPN’s are configured, supplied and installed by Decillion consultants after agreeing a network design with the customer.
The customer gains access to the MAPS, Alliance Workstation or Alliance Messenger user interface via the VPN tunnel. All applications reside at the service bureau site and are delivered to the customer via Citrix to his or her browser (diagram item 2). This means that when the MAPS, Workstation or Messenger application needs patching or upgrading this is done at the service bureau and therefore eliminates the need for costly on site visits. Operation of user interfaces is the same experience as if it were directly hosted on the customer’s premises and for those already familiar with Workstation or Messenger will find it identical and will require little or no training. The MAPS interface can be tailored to the exact customer requirements meaning unnecessary fields can be removed or field labels can be changed as required.
Customer back office system(s) (diagram item 4) that generate and receive messages exchange them with MAPS that converts them to SWIFT qualified messages before passing them to Alliance Access (diagram item 7). If required a final approval can be made before the messages are released onto the network or the messages can go straight out. Likewise with incoming messages, Alliance Access passes the messages to MAPS which converts them to a back office readable format before passing them to the back office for processing.
